NAEA Chicago Trip Mobile

I had the great privilege of going to Chicago for the NAEA Conference thanks to the BTS-ALP. They paid for my flight, hotel, and registration. I only had to pay for food and in my typical Cornwall fashion, was rather frugal. I spent almost $30 on my first meal there. Yikes. Breakfast and lunch was accommodated by an $18 grocery run to Trader Joes including PB&J's, fruit, yogurt, milk, granola, and orange juice. My next two dinners were $15 and then $10. Not too shabby.

I traveled with a few other members of the BTS-ALP. One did not make her flight so I sat alone on the way there. We stayed at the Chicago Hilton (SO nice!). Chicago was chilly but sunny. Lake Michigan was so blue! I made a lot of good connections with Penn State while I was  there. PhD? We'll see.

Hotel room shared with Bruce Hucko. We got our own bathrooms.

The bean (a.k.a Cloud Gate by Anish Kapoor)
$28.00 citrus chicken with veggies was very tasty and quite filling.
My breakfast.
My means of travel: The Divvy.  The convention center was two miles away. This cost me $10 a day and allowed me to see the city more.

SO blurb

I presented at the Elementary Carousel  on Integration. In thought there would be 5-10 people at each of the four presenters tables but there were over 130 people in the room! Us four presenters cycled the room to the four large groups. I totally rocked it.
Trying to have everyone see.

Navy Pier.

ComiCon Chicago was in another area of the convention center.

Together Again

This was Sunday morning after I got back from Chicago and hadn't seen Wendy for four days! (We're deflating the air mattress Grandma Tirrell was sleeping on.)

Daddy Daughter Date to the Mall/Getting the car oil changed

I realized Friday night the car was far overdue for an oil change. I hopped on the computer and found a Groupon for Sears Auto Center by the Provo Towncenter Mall. I decided to take Wendy so Mommy could get some rest. The mall would be a perfect place to run around while we waited. Unfortunately our adventures at the mall were much longer than intended after the mechanic accidentally drained the transmission fluid instead of the oil. We were there for 3.5 hours!!! Ugh. But Wendy and I still enjoyed our time together. Wendy loved. Especially the Orange Julius and the pink car.

Stroller and Grandma Cornwall

Wendy loves pushing her stroller around. She also loves her Grandma Cornwall who is in town for the weekend.

Oh that cute baby belly!

Reading her animal book with grandma. Oh I love seeing these two together!

Cars, Dogs, Cousins and Walks

Yesterday was a full day. After getting Wendy ready, she just sat on our bed and became mesmerized by all the cars passing by. Also, I can't get over her little bun. She looks so grown up with her hair up.

Watching more cars pass by. This time a "red truck!" was the exciting ticket.

We walked to a neighbors house for a little play date.

And they had a puppy! Wendy was in heaven. She was so sweet and gentle with him, my heart was melting.

Then we came home, had lunch and Wendy took a nap with her own little doggy.

After nap time we drove to my sisters house to go to a park with her and Wendy's cousins.

Wendy loved pushing the stroller.

I couldn't hold Wendy when she asked my to since I was cutting vegetables, so Adelyn stepped in. Wendy wrapped her legs around her cousin and held on for dear life, ha!
