Bountiful basket
We signed up for bountiful baskets this week, a local co-op that provides fresh produce and other foods for a good price. We decided to pick up our basket at the riverwoods via bicycle. Pickup was at 7:45 am so we left our place soon after Wendy woke up, hence her pajamas, so we could make it in time. It was a pleasant (cool) morning which was so refreshing. Wendy loved being there and wanted to wait in line with the other people. We got a lot of lovely, colorful and tasty produce. This may be the start of a regular weekly outing.
Slate Canyon Hike
Wendy and I went for a short morning hike with our mom friends Marni and Hilary. It's always refreshing to get out and move first thing, and having pleasant company makes it even better.

Wendy in the Chariot
We try to ride our bikes instead of driving as much as possible. And I can't help but think that Wendy just looks cuter every time we put her in the Chariot. She's such a good little cyclist already.
The Miskins Visit Provo
Our good friends Tyler and Hannah Miskin came to Provo for a few days and we were lucky enough to spend some time with them! We all lived at Mountainwood at the same time...that's where Hannah and Tyler started dating and that's where Jeff and I started dating! We each found our soulmate in that singles ward, how fun right? They are living in California and we miss them dearly. It was so fun getting to see them, to have Wendy and Asher play together and to meet their cute new baby Adelaide! She is a doll.
Sweet little Adelaide!
Sweet little Adelaide!
Wendy loved the little baby, although we had to help her to be "soft" instead of grabbing her face. We're working on that one...
Wendy in the Laundry Basket
Dad is the fun one, as you can see from these pictures. Wendy loves to wrestle with dad and doesn't mind when he puts her in the laundry basket. In fact, I think she enjoys it.
Cubby's
We went out to dinner while my folks were in town, and chose Cubby's. It's a soup/salad/sandwich place, but they are known for their Chicago-style beef. We got a portabello mushroom sandwich and a tri-tip steak salad. Both were so good, although I would recommend the salad first.
The salad...it was so tasty!
The Harpers joined us and I think everyone liked their meals, except Layla. She wanted a hotdog.

Adeline was being so cute with Wendy! They both had fun playing peekaboo around the highchair.
Mr. And Mrs. Fox
Wendy loves her Mr. and Mrs. Fox that Grandma Cornwall knitted her for Christmas. She gets so excited when she sees them, and insists on holding them both at the same time. They are the perfect little playmates.
Mom and Dad's Bed
Wendy's new favorite thing to do is try walking on our bed. You've gotta keep a close eye on her as she will walk right off the bed if you let her. She thinks it's so fun to try walking as fast as she can on the unstable/uneven surface. My favorite photo is the second one...baby plank!
Dad's classroom
We went to Jeff's classroom to help him start rearranging for the new school year. Wendy loved walking on the newly waxed floors and exploring a new space.
Swimming on the lawn
Our neighbors have a little blow up pool for the babies. Wendy and Zak splashed around on a hot summer afternoon and loved keeping cool in the water.
Mountain Biking at Big Springs
Jeff has become quite the mountain biking fan, and although he's only been a few times he loves it. He's been wanting to take me for a while, so we called upon sweet Madison to stay with Wendy while we went out for an early morning ride. We drove up to Big Springs and rode some of the trails up there. It was really fun, and really challenging! Mountain biking is a totally different sport than road cycling. I'm a little weary of going fast, so Jeff was way ahead of me on the downhills. It was so fun getting out early in the morning and finally trying this whole mountain biking thing out. I'd love to do it again.
